In honor of mom's up coming 80th birthday in March I'd like to share these pictures taken at her 75th birthday and along with these pictures a collection of three short narratives (to follow this blog entry) that she wrote while living with us in Freeburg, IL in 1999.

Mom arriving with Gil and Cheryl at her surprise birthday celebration.

From left is Nancy, Gil, mom, Cheryl and me. We are standing pool side during the birthday party held in honor of mom turning 75 years young. The party was at my Aunt Ruth's condo.

Aunt's Pat (front), Donna, Ruth, mom, Betty and Jo Carol.

Cousins Barb, Scott, Beth, Rob, Nancy, Cheryl, Trish, me, Gil and Tyler.

At our most favorite Mexican food restaurant Ochoa's in Casa Grande. Mom and dad would come here every Friday night. Ochoa's has all the same room decor of paintings and murals that I remember from when I was growing up and some new ones as well.

Arizona sunrise! Newman Mountain and Picacho Peak.

Waving hello from the middle of the Colorado River near Cheryl and Jack's house.
